Who you would be working with
Simpled Services is a property maintenance and refurbishment company. We work for housing associations, letting agents, landlords and private clients, mostly in London and the South East, and on jobs across the rest of the UK.
More than 8,500 jobs have gone through us. Mould and damp, leaks, plumbing, painting, kitchens and bathrooms, full refurbishments, end of tenancy work. Some of it is a two hour repair. Some of it runs for months.
The work is run inside Plan@Job, our own platform. Your jobs, the address, the scope, your photos, your reports and your invoice all sit in one place, so nobody is chasing anybody through WhatsApp for a picture of a finished wall.
The role
A lot of our decorating follows other trades. A leak is fixed, a wall is replastered, and somebody has to make the room look like nothing ever happened there.
The rest is volume. Empty properties that need turning around fast between tenants, to a standard that survives an inspection.
What the work is
- Prepare properly. Fill, sand, caulk and prime before anything else goes on.
- Work clean in occupied homes, and fast in empty ones.
- Match existing finishes when the job is a repair rather than a full redecoration.
- Photograph the room before and after, and flag anything that needs another trade.
What we need from you
- A real decorating background, with finished work you can show us.
- Public liability insurance, or willing to get it before your first job.
- The right to work in the UK, and registered as self-employed (CIS where the work is construction).
- Your own tools and your own transport.
- A phone you can take photos on. Every job is signed off with pictures.
The pay
Paid per job. The price is agreed with you before the work starts, and it does not change afterwards.
Please do not apply if
- You want a fixed weekly wage. This is self-employed work, paid per job.
- You leave a job at 60 percent and move on. We send the same people back to the same clients.
- Photos and paperwork annoy you. They are how you get paid on time.
